Security has become a way of life for everyone and single and multi-modal methods of transportation are at the heart of security
concerns. Trending and analysis of real-time field and sensor data available from transportation field devices combined with
external information feeds, can provide better determination of the cause of a failure and initiate appropriative corrective
measures whether it is a routine shutdown, power outage, normal device error, isolated criminal activity or sudden terrorist attack.
The Intelligent Response System identifies whether a field technician would be dispatched or must additional first responder
resources – police, fire, and bomb squad – be deployed. The system will recognize an event alert by a single or multiple devices
and coupled with other sensor or alert activity in the close proximity, identify and submit decision information to first responders
or routine maintenance.
In addition to enhancing public safety and response, Cognitor’s Intelligent Response System will enable transit systems to be more
effectively maintained and operated. Transportation system providers have a variety of systems and technologies including field
service management that provide a vast amount of data – only which a small part is used for monitoring and managing for security
or other first responder activities.
Working with existing technology platforms including current field service management, the Cognitor Transportation Security
Solution (TSS)TM aggregates and analyzes streaming data from the field devices and machines including events, alarms,
triggers, etc. After a analysis of device data, then the appropriate rules determine and prioritize all field requests
based on a number of other factors including service level agreements, MTBF and component failure, PM, passenger volume,
and external events. Coupled with Cognitor’s "next generation" real time dashboard and visualization technology, transit
operators will have decision-making capability based on trending, analysis and learning from this data to alert management
and emergency services instantly to the potential that a security breach or major equipment failure has occurred and of what
magnitude.
